At the age of seventeen Roger started working in the retail furniture industry in his home state of Massachusetts. A few years later he found himself on the road as a top performing sales person for a large furniture promotional sales firm. This led Roger to managing and then owning his own retail furniture store with multiple locations. He has also spent many years since working and consulting for some of the leading promotional and high impact sales companies in the business.  Mr. LaPlante is skilled in many of the aspects of the furniture industry such as developing management and sales teams and also merchandising, buying, and sales closing techniques. He brings exceptional experience, passion and high energy to every event. His attention to every detail and compassion for the retailer ensure profitability and success!  Roger is married with three children and now resides in New Jersey.

REx Mackenzie

Rex has been a part of the furniture industry for the past 31 years. He has been a top consultant for a large promotional sales firm for 10 of those years. The previous 21 years were spent as a furniture store owner. Over those 21 years as a furniture retailer Mr. Mackenzie has realized the highs and lows that an owner must endure while running a business. With these years of experience Rex brings his expertise, passion and enthusiasm to each individual client and situation.  Mr. Mackenzie now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia with his wife and heads up SCG's Canadian division. Our motto is "No Problems, Only Solutions" and with solutions that brings two things, success and profitability for our clients.


Paula Stewart

Management Consultant

Paula is the mother of 2 young men and resides in the Vancouver area. She grew up in the furniture business and because of that life long influence she has a great sense of where the furniture industry is headed now and in the future. Paula started with the SCG management team in 2007. She has a vast array of management skill sets that compliment the SCG team and has become an integral part of the SCG family.

Management Consultant

Darby has been in the furniture industry for over 27 years. For many of those years, he owned and operated a 50,000 sq. ft., high-end furniture & design firm where he learned the practical skills and creative vision it takes to work in this industry. For the last seven years, before joining the SCG Team, he owned and operated a multi-site, high-volume bedroom and mattress specialty chain. Here he handled all purchasing, merchandising, and several multi-million dollar advertising campaigns. Darby is considered a specialist in the furniture and bedding industry and is a BBB Torch award winner. He and his furniture businesses have been featured in many national publications, such as NA Home Furnishings Business, Furniture Today, and Retailer Now. Darby is married with two children and currently resides in Lexington, South Carolina.
